What a wonderful day to host Founders' Day at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum, in Lake Jackson, TX. The museum was decorated to the hilt, every table had vintage hats, mirrors, gloves, beads, tea cups and hat stands. Our meal was catered by the Pickett Fence in Lake Jackson, and served a variety of salads, casseroles and desserts, no one left hungry! Our guest Ruth Ann Few, School Board Member from Brazosport ISD, welcomed all District and State members to Brazosport. Johnnie Jackson was gracious introducing Dr. Millicent Valek from Brazosport College as our featured speaker. Our District President, Sharon conducted the meeting with various introductions of guests. Cindy Bigham, Texas State President-Elect presided over our Founders' Day presentation and Dorothy Jeffcoat conducted the Omega Service. We were entertained by music from the "Yellow Rose" during lunch. Charlene Laxton photographed everyone during the luncheon, her photos will be posted in the next couple of days. I have a few to add today, just because I am still so excited about the success of our Founders' Day--all thanks to each and everyone attending that made it so much fun.
Love to you all,
Coni Skidmore
