Happy Thanksgiving to Alpha Chi Sisters!

Hostesses for November: Mary, Charlene, Sue & Celia

Proud to support TARC our state Altruistic project!
Sue, Nancy, Barbara, Celia
What a great time Alpha Chi shared together playing Bunco for TARC, our state altruistic project.  Fun was shared by all that attended our November meeting at Rasco.  The competition ended up having more ladies loose various categories than those that won!   Our annual Christmas party was discussed, and will be held at the Picket Fence in Lake Jackson on December 1st at 6:00. The meeting will be short and will be followed by a Dutch Treat dinner.

Barbara & Rita sorting Pecans!
The biggest news Alpha Chi is happy to share is the Pecan Fundraiser is in full swing, the Pecans arrived and have been distributed to everyone who placed orders.  There are extra pecans to sell, so feel free to keep selling---the profit we make from the pecan sales will go toward scholarships for seniors at Brazosport and Brazoswood High School Seniors that want to pursue teaching degrees.

"FALL" into Founder's Day Celebration, Pecan Sales & Alpha Delta Kappa Month

Alpha Chi celebrated Alpha Delta Kappa Month with a pumpkin activity led by Sharon Roeder & Linda Burns.  October is recognized as Alpha Delta Kappa Month and teachers have shared various ways they have  shown their campus that Alpha Chi is active and supportive. We are gathering Pecan orders for our major fund raiser this month.  One  of our projects is offering a Pecan Pie along with two bags of pecans for a silent auction that will be held at the Lake Jackson Museum Fund raiser, all proceeds will go to the museum.
We are definitely embracing our biennium theme, "Connections...Moving Forward Together."
Many Davis, Rasco Middle School Assistant Principal, presented the program "World Understanding: Hispanic Culture."

She shared personal experiences, ideas, and  successful strategies that she has used in her teaching and administrative roles.

Alpha Chi enjoys lunch together in the summer!

Several Alpha Chi Sisters met this summer for lunch.  It was great catching up with everyone and listening to travels, inservice, going to the beach, keeping grandchildren, getting children ready for school and college!  Linda Malvern was our adventuresome Sister, by ordering the "Fried Donut Hamburger!"  Yes, that is right---and we have photos to prove it.  She said it tasted just like a fried donut with  hamburger, cheese and condiments on it!
Our President, Jacque, Coni, Donna, Barbara and  Darla met this summer to lay out some
plans for the upcoming year. Alot of ideas were shared and hopefully can be incorporated into many of our meetings.  Thanks to Donna our programs for the 20111-2012 year are going to be fun, interesting and very healthy!
Our first meeting will be September 1st at Rasco Middle School at 6:30 P.M. and our guest speaker will be the BISD new Superintendent Dr. Karin Holacka.  Please plan on joining us for a great speaker and meeting.
